Contents of this data set

This repository contains the processed experimental data as well as the evaluation procedure applied to create the figures published in "A compact electron beam ion source for highly charged ion experiments at large-scale user facilities". 

Context and methodology

• A compact electron beam ion source for creation of highly charged ions is commissioned. Wien filter spectra for analysis of available charge states for Ne, Ar and Xe ions are shown. A beam profile measured for Xe30+ ions is used to evaluate the beam size.
• The data comprises measured currents for a given other parameter (Wien filter voltage in case of the Wien filter spectra; manipulator position in case of the beam profile measurement) stored as ASCII files (included in the uploaded files).

Technical details

• The dataset includes two analysis files in .dgraph-format (see below). Each figure (excluding schematics) is prepared using the file named according to the figure number. The data inside the files is structured in a folder-tree labelled according to the content of the figure.
• DataGraph from Visual Data Tools is required to open this data set. The data was created using version 5.5.2beta.
