Genesis Fringe-Test Visibility Data
Authors/Creators
Description
Data description
Genesis is an upcoming geodetic satellite mission by ESA that will co-locate four global observing systems (GNSS, SLR, DORIS, and VLBI) in space. This dataset contains correlated VLBI data of observations of a natural radio source at the frequency bands of the Genesis VLBI signal.
Context and methodology
On April 27, 2026, at 13:00 UTC the natural radio source 4C39.25 was observed with a network of VGOS telescopes, using a frequency setup that covers the radio signal to be transmitted by the Genesis satellite. This dataset contains 30 seconds of correlated data of the baseline ONSA13SW-WETTZ13S. The data were correlated with the DiFX software.
Technical details
These data follow the default naming convention of DiFX. The base directory contains the configuration files, and the subdirector contains the visibility data in the SWIN format along with the extracted phase-cal data. The data were generated with DiFX-2.5.5. A detailed description of the DiFX file formats can be found here.
