Data for "Trajectory-dependent highly charged ion-induced electron yield from single-layer graphene"

Description

Contents of this data set

This repository contains the processed experimental data as well as the evaluation procedure applied to create the figures published in "Trajectory-dependent highly charged ion-induced electron yield from single-layer graphene".

Context and methodology

  • Highly charged ion de-excitation upon neutralisation in a single-layer graphene sample is studied based on charge exchange and emitted secondary electrons. Ions are detected trajectory-dependent and the trajectory information is used to link the charge exchange and secondary electron emission to possible de-excitation mechanisms.
  • The data comprises coincidence measurement results in a list-mode fashion, i.e. for single impinging ions we record the impact position (x/y) on our 2D position-sensitive particle detector, the time of flight of the projectiles from sample to detector and the secondary electron yield. The resulting charge-state and electron-yield distributions are filtered regarding the impact position of the ions (to get information on different scattering angles). The full data set is available for one irradiation (98keV Xe30+). Resulting mean charge state/yield data in dependence of the scattering angle is given for three irradiation parameters.

Technical details

  • The dataset includes two analysis files in .dgraph-format (see below). The first file "_FIG2" is the basis for Figure 2 and includes the full data set of the coincidence measurement including the filtering for scattering angles The second file ("_FIG3") collects the determined results of the trajectory-dependent yield and charge state information for three ion irradiation parameters. All manuscript figures (excluding schematics) can be reproduced using these data files. The data inside the files is structured in a folder-tree labelled according to the content of the figure.
  • DataGraph from Visual Data Tools is required to open this data set. The data was created using version 5.5.2beta.
