The dataset DOI:10.48436/ewygc-y0g16 is provided as a .zip folder containing five MATLAB (.mat) files.
The variables stored in the .mat files are nested structure arrays that have been created and saved with MATLAB R2023b.
We recommend to use MATLAB to work with the files. 
If MATLAB is not available, alternatives are: the free GNU Octave or the "loadmat" offered in scipy to import .mat files to Python.
Be aware, however, that the structure files imported with software other than MATLAB may be arranged/nested differently than in our description.
